Jay Pancham completed a ND in Electronic Eng. (Telecommunication). He then graduated from University of Natal, South Africa with a Hons in Comp. Sc. and Inf. Systems. Jay Pancham completed the MICT (cum laude) at the Durban University of Technology where he is working as a senior lecturer from 1996. He has published numerous articles on Telecentres and indoor Real Time Location Systems (RTLS). Equipped with the practical industry related experience and the academic knowledge he is currently engaged with a PhD in “Indoor Real Time Location Systems for Health care.”

Jay Pancham’s career in industry commenced at Telkom, South Africa where he spent 4 years in Telecommunication and Information Systems Development. Thereafter he spent many years on a full time basis and as a consultant in the ICT industry servicing SMME, Corporate and Government sectors. He has vast experience in the areas of requirements engineering, project management, software engineering, and infrastructure design and implementation. His domain experience includes Telemedicine, Electronic Health Records, Primary Health Care, logistics, shipping, container terminal handling, Environmental MIS, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). Some of his current projects include: Designing systems for Telemedicine to deliver much needed services to rural areas, data collection using digital medical devices from rural households to determine and predict non communicable diseases, Indoor RTLS for patient and asset location within Healthcare, Video surveillance for crime prevention.
